Women’s Self-Defense
Published by Repeticion Escrima
Repeticion escrima is a form of Filipino Self-defense since the time of pre-colonial Spanish occupation of the Philippines. A family system from the Ilustrisimo clan of Bantayan, Cebu Philippines, going back mulitiple generations. Some of my practioners included Pablo Ilustrisimo, Tatang Ilustrisimo, and my late grandfather Regino Ilustrisimo. Learning from my mother, uncles, aunts and cousins, I felt compelled to carry on my family's art into the next generation of self-protection. Not only stick fighting, but our family incorporates blade work, improvised weapons, and empty hand skills. Teach at the local Stockton/NorCal area parks or wherever I am invited. -brother sam View more posts
